I drove into our road late last week (when it was still August) and realised that the trees weren't as green and there were leaves blowing across the road. How depressing. Hoping for an Indian Summer!
So here is Auguts in review:
English paper pieced hexagons - I am totally hooked. I spent our holiday piecing these little darlings. Unfortunately other projects and the reorganization of my sewing space means that I won't get this project finished in time to enter it into the festical of hexagons. I've enjoyed EPP so much I've ordered some other shapes....
Jelly Roll Papillon Hexagons - I can't find a picture of the finished quilt top. But I did get a quilt top finished. The second quilt is started too. I have the backing and batting so there is no reason I can't finish at least one of these in September.
Sidmouth! We spent a fantastic week in South Devon! Roll on 2013
The Farmer: I am ploughing on with sashing - my least favourite part. It's starting to come together and yesterday I managed to get backing fabric and border fabric that I'm really pleased with.
Sebastian's quilt. Sebastian was born 6 weeks early. He's still in hospital, but doing well. He needs a quilt and I've picked a mini Farmer's Wife in different greens.
Mario - I couldn't resist. Nor could I follow the patttern properly, so Mario has a think nexk!
Sew Intertwined: I finished the quilt top just this week - just need to add some borders! I really like this quilt and I may use the Ikea purchases to back it. I have a bit of a deadline for finishing the quilt of two weeks time - watch this space.
And not photographed - a bee block in the Stash Bee and 75 Polaroid blocks for a swap - looking forward to getting a package in the post!
What's ahead for September? A new sewing space! Let's hope we can make some real progress on it today! I want to finish a few more things for the Finish-Along, though I don't think I'll manage everything on the list I set myself back in June! A couple of new QALs - Mod Pop and Spinning Star. And a really, really busy month ahead at work. Must remember to sleep!
