Tonight I finished this quilt for my baby. And it is definitely one of my favourite finishes! So bright and happy and girly.
I hadn't intended this quilt to be for her when I did the cutting - it was going to be a gift. But as soon as I started piecing I knew I couldn't give it away.
The pattern is from Moda Bakeshop (here) and the fabrics are from my stash and include Basic Grey, Pearl Bracelets, Summersville Spring, various Art Gallery fabrics, Cherry Christmas, Nana's Garden, Tilda, and a number of Kona solids. I cut a few charm squares from each of the fabrics. The background is Essential Dots in light grey from Moda. The backing is Tilda (picked because of the extra width as the finished quilt is just a little bit bigger than width of fabric!) and the binding is a Houndstooth print from Basic Grey.
It took me just a couple of hours to do all the piecing - which would make this a great quick gift if you need something last minute!
I quilted the whole top in a free motion stipple and moved a little out of my comfort zone with some free motion hearts as well. You can just about see one half on the pink and half on the grey.
And today I added the binding.
All I need now is Baby - 10 more weeks!
