This list has not been easy to put together, because none of the projects I have are particularly close to being finished. Normally I can split my list into two halves: those items which are realistic finishes and those items which are totally unrealistic. Every so often an unrealistic finish makes it, but mostly they are put on repeat until they become realistic! This time, I don't have many projects that fall in the first category.... perhaps only one. And of the unrealistic quilts, those closest to being finished need quilting. And the machine I normally use for quilting needs to be serviced... So here is my list, and I'm not expecting many finishes. I think it will be a personal success if I can simply make progress on a few of them. If one accidentally gets finished, then even better! After the success of "Sleep Deprived Stupidity" I've got to follow it with an even more ridiculous list! I've taken off some of the really unrealistic goals and these will reappear next year. In theory, every single one of the projects in the list below is achievable....ha ha! Loads of people we know are expecting, or have just had babies, so there are a few baby quilts on my list: first up one with butterflies... ...And one with boats... ...these fabrics will become a quilt I've designed myself... I hope I've worked out the cutting instructions correctly! The royal blue is my background fabric - yummy! ...and these fabrics will become a Preppy the Whale quilt - I love this rainbow of colours. We've just had a week of really lovely weather. This morning, however, Autumn has arrived with a vengeance: misty, grey, chilly. So a quilt pattern called Aspen Glow is starting to feel appropriate. It's week 2 and we've now caught up to where I was last year. I'm making this for a relative and picked out five of the fabrics from last year's Downton Abbey range from Andover, paired with Art Gallery Pure Elements in a cream colour. These aren't my style of fabrics, but they are beautiful and I was quite pleased to have an excuse to use them! The cutting for this quilt is extensive. I spent all day cutting. But the idea is you cut everything, bag it up, then chain piece the 10 different blocks.  I made my A blocks - these are quite straightforward. There's just lots of them.
