When I started this quarter my Finish Along list was somewhat lengthy... but I have a fair few finishes, so I'm pretty pleased - even though I came no where near completing the lot! I was hoping to sneak another finish in under the wire, but I'd rather spend some time on getting it right, than rushing it, so that will make it on to the next list (which promises to be my most enormous yet). I can't believe it's 1st of June already. May was so busy that I'm looking forward to a few quiet weeks in June (before it gets busy again at the end of the month). I finished four quilts! Arabella Hexagon Quilt Thread Along Quilt Neon Stained Three Peaks I started a lap quilt and a mini quilt and pieced the quilt from the bee blocks I received Lap quilt for my Great Aunt ready to quilt and applique Mini Medallion All of my bee blocks I made a scrappy camera case for my Mum This month, unlike last month, I managed to get some sampler blocks done , though none for my Dear Jane quilt. But it did include a Lucky Star block And last thing yesterday, just before my daughter's final assault on Mount Cry, I finished my two bee blocks for this month! Hello and welcome! If you've headed over from the Blogger's Quilt Festival then it's great to see you here. I'm a brand new Mum, Mia is just 11 weeks old, and I sew to keep me sane. I am going to declare April a success! Mia will now take a bottle, which means she is full some of the time, which means she sits in her bouncy chair and smiles, rather than constantly being breast fed. Naps are elusive - unless you count the ten minute ones - I'm pretty sure a nine-week-old shouldn't power nap! But a bottle also means Daddy can look after her by himself. This all means a little more Me time and this is inevitable spent with the sewing machine. As I'm typing this I'm worried some of you will think I'm a bad mother... It isn't finished yet, but today my neon stained quilt is officially a step closer. I have finished the free motion quilting. Warning - this post is photo heavy as I dissect my free motion quilting! Ive found loads of inspiration online for the quilting ideas and it's all pinned on my Pinterest board . Progress shot! First up a shot of the whole quilt from the front (I totally lucked out with the light in our living room this afternoon to get these photos which show the quilting off so well)... ...and from the back (I've heard rumours Ikea are discontinuing this print - does anyone know if that's the case in the UK too?).
