Whoops! It's been a while hasn't it! Well I have lots to catch you up on before the end of the year, so let's start back in October, with our North East Modern Quilt Guild Retreat. This was our third year we've had a retreat and this year there were eight of us. We booked a really lovely, luxurious cottage just outside of Warkworth in Northumberland and after rearranging the furniture a little, we spent two and half days with no children, just our sewing machines!
We had arranged two swaps over the course of the weekend. The first was the sisterhood quilt blocks. Each of us had an allocated colour and made 8 sisters. My colour was aqua
We then swapped and ended up with one of each colour.
I'm going to make mine into a tote bag and whilst it was on my finish along list there's no way it's going to be done this year!
Our other swap was the Woppet bucket. The pattern is by @cleverwoppet and we each made secretly for a partner. And just look at the absolute masterpiece I received from Rose @quilttintedglassed
All of my favourite things! Some Tula, some Alison, some Essex linen, a bit of hand embroidery and quilting and some really lovely extras.
And here's the one I made. Totally by coincidence, I was making for Rose!
I took inspiration from the colours in her mosaic and designed a foundation pieced star. We were watching a lot of Tangled at the time and its since been pointed out I might have been channeling Rapunzel when I made it!
What do you call a group of Woppets?
Linking up with the Finish Along as my woppet was on my list, which you can see here.
