Firstly - thank you for your understanding and kind messages asking about how this block of the month is going. I am desperately trying to get back on the wagon and I will share the next few blocks with you just as soon as I can.
For today I can share the August block - finally. For my quilt, August is red - because in Britain we always have flaming red hot summers!
The fabrics I've used are Riley Blake Chevrons, Mama Said Sew by Sweetwater, Boutique by Chez Moi, and To Market from Robert Kaufmann - the apples are perfect size for fussy cutting! The other fabrics are from my stash and I have no idea what they are!
The embroidery is made up of motifs which remind me of a British Summer - beach huts and ice cream!
You can find the embroidery pattern here; the information on the embroidery can be found here. The block construction is the same as for February and May and you can find the information here.
I would love to hear from you if you are taking part in this BOM, and I promise I won't just abandon you, but please bear with me as I find the time to work through the blocks: the embroidery patterns are all prepared and I'm half way through the September block, and the central block is progressing nicely!
