I had a burst of enthusiasm since last week! So these are all new projects....
I've been given some hand-knitted booties and a cardigan for baby by some of the ladies at church, so to say thank you I've made a couple of table runners. Both are the same design as this one below, but the un-photographed one has opposite colours for the blocks.
The fabrics are totally out of my comfort zone. I wanted Christmassy colours, but not overly Christmassy fabrics - with some help at my LQS I picked the fabrics from the Women of Courage range. The block is called Love in the Mist and I've reduced it to a 9" version.
Both runners are pieced and quilted. Now I need to trim (never my favourite task) and bind. I'm thinking pointy ends...
But the table runners didn't stop there. Having seen this pin, I put together this table runner all for me. It's one of those projects that, as I piece it, I know full well my Mum won't like it! I haven't started quilting it yet but I want to do matchstick quilting - or maybe just dense quilting - it depends on my patience level. It may have been better if I had picked lower-volume fabrics....
But I didn't stop there....oh no. I have a confession to make with this quilt.... originally it was going to be a gift for someone. It isn't any more. The pattern is from the Moda Bakeshop. The fabrics are all from my stash, except for the background which is Moda Essential Dots in grey. Even as I started piecing I knew I was going to love this quilt.
So this quilt isn't going anywhere and I will be keeping it for my Baby - who I got to see again today with a 30-week scan - she is definitely active and everything is looking good. However, my back is not enjoying pregnancy, so I will be spending less time at my sewing machine and more time in the armchair with a hot water bottle and some hand sewing. This is the view this evening (trying to get caught up)!
I'm linking up with WIP Wednesday.
