If you have followed my blog for a while, you may know that back in June we went on holiday to Pembrokeshire in south-west Wales. It is my favourite place in the world! The coast is spectacular and the colours in the sea are gorgeous. When we were there I thought about making a quilt in the colours, and filed the idea away for when I have more time.
A few month's earlier I had seen Nilya's Ferris Wheel EPP cushion on Flickr and fallen in love (if you don't know what I'm talking about, make sure you click on the link and take a look - you will fall totally in love).
Then I came across the Travelling Pic Stitch Blog Hop and knew what I wanted to do. This was my photo.
It's from the cliffs above Porthgain in northern Pembrokeshire. And my fabrics: I picked out these fabrics and took them with me when I visited Budapest in October. I stitched together a few pieces and then put it away in a drawer when I came home again.
I went back to Budapest and took it with me again, and this time I made some real progress.
It isn't finished, but it now at least looks like I had been planning. The white area in between the two EPP sections will be filled with embroidered place names - all of the places I love and have wonderful memories of. I've made a start on the embroidery but sadly I think this will now take a back seat until after Christmas. But I may pick up some border fabric next time I'm in a fabric shop.
Although it isn't finished I will be linking up with the Travelling Stitch Pic linky - check out the other entries!
