So - who's new year resolutions are still going strong - my colleague's resolution to be nice to me lasted until 2.30pm - not bad. Then normality returned - I much prefer it!
I will never ever make a resolution not to start new projects, because I know I would not be able to! And this year is a clear example of that lack of will power! I've already signed up for three Quilt-Alongs this year (you can find all of the buttons for them in my side bar): The hardest part of these quilt-alongs is choosing the fabric. I started with Design Seeds and picked these three photos:

I started pulling fabric, then swapped it all around and added in some other colours, and eventually ended up with two piles of fabric for two quilts:
Lucky Stars with Don't Call Me Betsy: I love foundation piecing and I love stars so this one is perfect and having already made up two of the patterns, it's totally worth the very small sign up fee! This is my fabric:
The practice block was released on Boxing Day and block 1 was released yesterday and I have finished them both! The pattern includes a 12" version and a 6" version and I've gone for the 6" version (nice and fiddly), which will result in a baby quilt.

Although I love foundation piecing, I do sometimes feel guilty about the amount of waste. This is the pile from just two blocks. To allay my guilt I've saved all of the scraps big enough for a 1/4" or 3/4" hexie and I will work on a scrappy cushion of all the leftovers through the year. Let's see if I stick to that!
The second bundle of fabric...

And there there is the Gen X Sisters BOM. I haven't decided on fabrics for this one yet.
And have you seen? I'm hosting my own BOM - here's block 1 - you can find more details
here!
And this is what I'm starting to work on this evening. Wish me Luck!
And today I'm linking up with WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced
