Following a request from my nephew, I decided that all the kids would get cushions for Christmas this year. My niece loves Unicorns, Giraffes and Pink. I struggled to include all three in a single cushion: two isn't bad!
I used a foundation piecing pattern by @quietplay. This was not a pattern for the faint-hearted. It has a lot of pieces. But it's stunning! I made a lot of mess with my white/cream fabric scraps - and I was very pleased when I found a white fabric with silver stars on! ALl of the work was totally worth it when Ellie-Jo opened her present on Christmas day - she was absolutely over the moon with it!
The cushion finishes at 14"x14". I used Kona Candy Pink for the background and a perfect Michael Miller print of pink and purple princess castles for the back! To quilt it, I just outlined the shape of the unicorn and quilted round the border.
This was a Finish Along finish, though the it went through quite a few changes between the fabric pull I initially shared and the finished Unicorn. You can find my original list here.
