Dresdens

I finished three quilts last week. That means I can start three more. Right?

This weekend was about Dresdens. Not something I've done a lot of before. I started on Saturday witha  new Jelly Roll quilt. It's from the Jelly Roll Dreams book and is called Pac Mania. Here are my first four blocks all together (the background is cream, not grey).

In the finished quilt there won't be any full circles only three quarter circles (which look like the things from Pac Man - hence the name). I'm using a Ruby Jelly Roll, and those are curved seams! So far I'm 11 blocks in and no pleats in my seams! I need 36 blocks in total so there is still time!

And then yesterday I started the Sew Intertwined QAL with the centre Dresden. Check out the tutorial because this technique took away all of the Dresden issues I've had in the past. I haven't bought my background fabric yet, so I've just sat it on some cream fabric from the jelly roll quilt.

The fabrics are part of the Cats Amore range from Benartex - but I've avoided the cat-ty prints. Except the pink. Which is from Moda.

I'm off to do some more curved seams!

Yes, it definitely means three new starts. But... I only count two, where's the third? :)

Both projects look good. Good luck with the curved seams. Especially as you've now jinxed yourself ;)

Gosh, they are both so stunning - at first I was going to gush about the Ruby one but the purple and green one is just as gush worthy. Beautiful!

All the Little Finishes

 I've had a few recent finishes - mostly smaller pieces and mostly not on my list to finish this year (because I've only just started them!) - lots and lots of pouches! Here's a round up... Three pouches I made for the kids for our holiday - all are the Seamingly Sane Pouch pattern, but I used the pattern add-on to adjust the sizes and customised with some straps and in one case, a pocket. These three pouches are made for our work Yubikeys when we travel to protect them - it's a slightly adjusted Aneela Hooey pattern - the peas are an inside joke! I knew I had pea fabric for a reason! 365 Quilt Challenge 2016 [A finish]

I can't believe I've just typed that heading! When I made the block for January 1st 2016 I could not have imagined the journey this quilt would have taken me on. So make yourselves comfortable and grab a cup of tea, because this blog post may get lengthy! I'd seen the 365 Quilt Challenge on Facebook. I think every quilter on Facebook must have been aware of it. Loads of my friends had signed up and it kept popping up as a "Page you might like" thing. In the end, in November 2015, I joined the group, had a poke round. Decided it wasn't for me. One of the things that really put me off were the fabric requirements: you needed x amount of dark dark fabric, x amount of medium dark fabric, x amount of dark medium, medium, light medium, light, background.... Blogger's Quilt Festival: Autumn 2012

This weekend it's the Blogger's Quilt Festival over at Amy's Creative Side Since the last festival I have finished loads of quilts which I could enter, but I'm sure anyone who follows my blog will have guessed which quilt I'm entering.....and will probably be fed up of seeing it by now :) The Farmer's Wife Quilt - here's the story and lots of photos!
