I've finished lots recently! That means I can start lots! I spent last week at my Mum and Dad's without my sewing machine - but I did have my phone and computer and all week I just found projects I wanted to make, so I've come home and started playing with fabric and cutting and cutting.
So far I've cut for three projects and started piecing two, but I'm not done yet! Oh no! First up was the nested churn dash - this is all over the place at the moment, and I have to admit that when I first saw it, it didn't really speak to me - it took a while to realise why - it's quite a skinny churn dash in the outer borders and I generally prefer churn dashes which have had a few more chocolate bars! Then I saw this! At which point I had to make my own version. I've started with a hoarded bundle of Happy Mochi Yum Yum in orange, pink, and yellow and added to it.
This is block number 1. Blocks 2, 3 and 4 are cut, ready for Mia's next nap.
Project two is a cushion using Tula Pink City Sampler blocks. In contrast to the nested churn dash, this palette is somewhat more limited. I'm planning to sash the blocks with a grey dot and then practice quilting on this before starting the quilting on the full size quilt.
Project three is not yet in a state to be photographed, but I have cut all the fabrics for a mini Post Card quilt following Debbie's tutorial.
And it wouldn't be a day ending in Y without a photo of Mia - here she is reading with her big cousin - Ellie-Jo is a year older.
Watch this space for more starts and a complete absence of finishes! Linking up with WIP Wednesday.
